Ancestry is seeking Application Engineers to join our team.

You will be a member of a well-formed Search Application scrum team with responsibilities for building an exciting and dynamic user application experience. You will be part of an effort to help users search across billions of pieces of data in their quest to find details of their past. Search is the most visited and widely used area of the Ancestry.com website and is the primary focus for millions of users. As a member of the Search application team, you will be instrumental in driving innovation and will help evolve the Search user experience for our global audience. You will be part of an effort to discover and develop new ways for simplifying the finding and preserving of nuggets of information users are looking for. You will in a very real way make an impact on the lives of those individuals who use the products you build.
What you will do
- Work with Product Management & Search Services to provide world-class software solutions
- Innovate, innovate, innovate.
- Build, manage and maintain excellent customer facing Search applications
- Follow best practices for code quality and testing
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science (or strong foundation in CS fundamentals such as design patterns, data structures and algorithms)
- Experience in designing and implementing large scale web application, APIs and frameworks
- Disciplined approach to development including QA and Design Patterns
- Understanding of software development processes, including object-oriented analysis, design and implementation
Good to have:
- Experience with Amazon AWS cloud services
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with HIPAA compliance
- Good communication skills
