Java Backend Software Developer - Commerce Team

Job Description

Ancestry is looking for a talented and experienced Software Developer to join our Commerce Team in our Lehi, UT office to help fundamentally transform our back-end services. You will be a key member of a team designing and developing our critical services to be highly available and scalable. You will work closely with other teams to define requirements, design interfaces and implement them. You must be able to analyze services for bottlenecks and performance issues then design and implement solutions.

  • Build solutions using Java, Spring, and MySQL

  • Ensure quality by creating comprehensive tests

  • Investigate, design and implement a micro service architecture using AWS cloud technologies and platforms

  • Develop and improve highly available and reliable services

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Java and Spring

  • Experience with Linux, REST, and SQL

  • BS in Computer Science or related field required

  • Understanding of the software development process, including object oriented analysis, design, and implementation

  • Experience developing and deploying cloud based solutions.

  • Maven/Gradle, Continuous Integration, Cache (Memcache), Message Queue (SQS)

  • Good understanding of high-availability/Fault-tolerance and caching techniques

  • Good understanding of design patterns
