Position Overview

Beatport is growing the team responsible for Artist Relations. We are looking for someone who can create and support relationships with artists in the dance music community, and to integrate them into initiative across SFX Entertainment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with priority/assigned artists, managers, agents, and publicists to ensure exclusive content and preferred status for SFX company initiatives
  • Oversee and resolve all queries and issues as they come in
  • Maintain FAQs for artists and their managers and social media/marketing representatives for Pro, Beatport, Play, Beatport Live, Pro Desktop App, and any other Beatport product made available for use in the marketing of an artist
  • Liaise with product development team on feedback, needs, and suggestions coming from priority/assigned artist contacts
  • Help create and maintain a central database of target/priority artists for SFX as a whole 
  • Develop and maintain a weekly internal reporting system of highlights and important notes from the Artist Relations department
  • Provide weekly research reports for key industry metrics, charts, and news items
  • Assist VP of Artist Relations with organizational and logistical duties
  • Reach out to new and up and coming approved acts to establish relationships with Beatport and SFX as a whole
  • Contact and follow up with artists who have been asked to remove copyrighted material from Beatport.com
  • Assist VP of Artist Relations with organizational and logistical duties
  • Assist with special initiatives, cooperations and promotions for artists via Beatport label team, Marketing, Publishing, Integrated Marketing, Brand Sponsorships, and Life


Secondary Job Responsibilities:

  • Reporting back to the larger team on trends, major news items
  • Contribute ideas and propose initiatives for improving Beatport and SFX artist relationships
  • Attending and reporting back on EDM events/artists in the area
  • Create and maintain a central resource for the promotion of SFX-related artists and their latest news items
  • Create and maintain a resource for SFX services available for use by SFX-related artists and their management teams
  • Provide weekly research reports for key industry metrics, charts, and news items
  • Communicate with artist agency and management groups inside of the SFX system for updates and highlights from their rosters 
  • Generally peruse, correct mistakes within, and give feedback on the presentation of artists and their material on Beatport Pro and Beatport.com

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Proficient in Excel & Powerpoint/Keynote
  • Strong grasp of social media interfaces and trends
  • 2 years experience in a dance music related position (internship or otherwise)
  • 5 years experience attending electronic music events
  • Must be willing and able to regularly attend local events for dance music acts
  • Experience writing for a blog a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel to larger dance music events/festivals a plus
