Job Description

Our IT/Operations team is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer . You’ll join a small team that shares responsibility for designing,  implementing,  and operating our worldwide network including 4 data centers,  5 offices,  and an active roaming workforce. The team supports OSI layers 1-4 on a daily basis and interacts with our development and IT teams to support the rest of the stack including load-balancing,  DDOS protection, and other application-level concerns.

This position reports to our VP, IT Operations. You will be working from our Austin office.

Some on-call and after-hours work is required.


Main Responsibilities:

* Maintain network infrastructure in offices and data center environments (routers, switches, firewalls and various network appliances)
* Develop standard configurations, procedures, and guidelines for selecting, installing, and deploying integrated solutions and platforms   
* Provide 24x7x365 support for network availability, including responsibility for managing after hours on-call support for issue resolution on a rotation basis   
* Analyze and tune performance of strategic network infrastructure; verify proper operation of complex configurations   
* Help define network policies and implement industry best practices


Qualifications

Must-haves:

    * Minimum 7+ years of experience maintaining converged network infrastructure
    * Solid working knowledge of L3 routing protocols, especially OSPF and BGP
    * Hands-on experience with LAN/switching protocols: PVSTP+, MST, LACP, LLDP, VRRP, vPC
    * Experience with network operating systems such as IOS, JunOS, and EOS
    * Experience with Control-plane administration: SNMP, StackWise, CoPP, OoB, ISSU
    * Configuration management & change management experience
    * Proven experience managing Wireless and VPN solutions
    * Experience with security audit, logging, and event response
    * Working knowledge of network security including firewalls, DDoS, and IDS/IPS
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pluses:

    * Linux command-line and scripting skills — Bash, Python, Tcl, Ruby, Lua
    * VoIP, QoS, 802.11n/ac, VTPv3
    * DevOps and Scrum/Agile experience,  including Jira and Confluence
    * Automation with Puppet
