The International Freedom Coalition is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that exists to eradicate child maltreatment worldwide by strengthening and stabilizing the family unit. Our New Civil Rights Movement: Equal Treatment for the Homeless is advocating for a National Homeless Bill of Rights to protect unhoused individuals and families from abuse and discrimination.

Job Description

Start date: Immediately

Length: 3 years, renewable

Hours: ~1-5 per week

Location: Houston / Telecommute

Compensation: Unpaid Community Service

If you are a research expert in social and organizational psychology, poverty, economic development, or social justice issues, then we are looking for you! As our Research Director and CRO, you will develop and foster internationally recognized social research by the Coalition. Responsibilities

The CRO will serve as the spokesperson on the topics of evidence and continuous improvement to collaborative partners, funders, and the community. Additionally, the CRO will:

Fulfill normal Board Member duties and provide oversight for:

• Committee of senior research specialists to oversee strategy implementation, as Chair.

• Design and implementation of small to large-scale short-term, longitudinal, and feasibility studies.

• Development of evaluative studies for in-house and community programs.
• Development of an outreach program to create and present research to a cross section of stakeholders.
• Collaboration with Development to secure competitive grant funding to advance our research goals.
• Provision of commentary to the broadcast, print, and social media in response to new developments.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion for and a strong desire to transform the lives of children and families.
• Must have a take-charge attitude, keen ability to lead with no supervision.
• Ph.D. plus 7+ years experience as research director or principal investigator.
• Polished and poised with unimpeachable ethics and unwavering integrity a must.
• Flourishes in start-up/early stage project environment.
• Must communicate effectively with dignitaries, C-suite executives, celebrities, and the media.
• Understanding of global homelessness, poverty, and civil/human rights issues a plus.

Compensation: Unpaid Community Service
