Job Description

This position is a 6 month contract position to be paid hourly. Rate is $35-$33 an hour.


Accountable for internal communications vehicles. This includes: 

• Weekly electronic newsletters, daily news, special newsletters and weekly industry news 

• Manage and maintain the content of the Holcim (US) and Aggregate Industries US Hub home page and corporate communications section 

• Research, interview, compile, write, edit, publish and distribute diverse communication tools such as magazine, newsletters, daily news, etc. on a regular basis as well as more project based communications (brochures, presentations, corporate videos) 

• Establish, develop and cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

• Respond to and/or route contact requests received by the telephone and website 

• Layout various print items such as brochures, slides, worksheets, collateral and supporting materials for special events and utilize InDesign publishing software to handle prepress production. This includes invitations, programs and flyers Manage corporate communications' budget. 

• Generate monthly reports for supervisor and submitting reclass requests 

• Manage corporate communications' billing, including the creation of vendors, responding to vendor inquiries and invoice management 

• Coordinate assistance from outside vendors, including printers, mail houses and graphic designers 

• Participate in various meetings in order to properly gather knowledge to support the various functions of the company 

• Assist VP, Corporate Communications with overflow and smaller external communications issues 

• Other duties as assigned by the VP, Corporate Communications

Qualifications

MUST HAVES:


• 3-5 years of work experience specifically in internal communications 

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies or Business Marketing 

• Minimum 2 years desktop publishing experience 

• Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator 

• Ability to manage projects relatively independently 

• Ability to work on confidential and sensitive issues with a degree of tact and discretion 

• Strong background on social media platforms and trends as well as some level of technical skills related to intranet management 

• Experience with Google, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate to diverse audiences 

• Self-starter with solid decision-making skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision 

• Adaptable to change 

• Ability to plan and prioritize work


PREFERRED:


• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
