Job Description

DCI Group is currently seeking to fill the position of Director in our Strategic Alliance division with a strong focus on coalition building and issue campaigns. Do you have experience in tech, telecom, environmental, human rights, housing or similar policy area issue campaigns? When you look around a room, can you read it and know immediately who your different audiences are and the different ways you can approach them? In conversations that involve persuasion, the political landscape, policy nuances, and even conflict, are you the diplomat in the room that brings consensus without alienating any party? Job Requirements

• Focus efforts on strategic alliances, third party outreach and external affairs with non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and academics across the country

• Manage long-term relationships between DCI Group and alliances by demonstrating diplomacy skills and a high level of trust within both organizations

• Represent nuanced and complex issue positions in many different audiences, bringing consensus around common themes and efforts.

• Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in creating new strategic alliances

• Understand and remain current with best practices in coalition management

• Focus efforts on issue campaign management, external outreach to non-profit organizations, expert voices, and academics and grassroots mobilization

• Interface with clients: participate in the formulation of strategy and working with team members to execute campaign plans

Qualifications

6+ years relevant experience (i.e. community outreach on behalf of a member or caucus, corporate community outreach, or non-profit corporate or external relations). Ideal candidate should possess a demonstrated track record of developing alliances and achieving high-impact business results in a fast paced work environment. The ideal candidate would possess the following skills:

• Complex project management skills • Understanding of constituency relations and strategic alliances

• Demonstrated ability managing a significant number of relationships, constituents, clients, or similar

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with – and adapt to – a wide variety of communication styles

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently

• Manage budgets and staff for projects

• Strong existing external relationships in varying public policy areas (ideally tech, telecom, human rights, environmental, housing, etc.) and communities as well as proven experience with coalition building and grassroots mobilization

• Ability to prepare and present complex materials or issues before a wide variety of audiences

• Willingness to travel domestically (10%)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Strong Leadership Skills are also required
