 The Director of Marketing, North America – Retail Dispensers and AMO (Aftermarket Maintenance Organization) is responsible for growing sales and margin of our company's retail dispenser system sales ($270M) and aftermarket parts sales ($50M) for all of our company's product lines in North America. 


This highly visible position will report to the VP of Marketing, North America and works closely with senior level management to set the direction and lead our largest and most profitable product lines. This position will be responsible for defining and implementing product roadmaps, brand strategies, developing and managing partner relationships, product launch, and setting and executing upon sales campaigns and commercial strategies.


In addition to traditional marketing responsibilities, this position will set and deliver on financial and operational targets, and will be jointly accountable with the other functions in the business for quality, delivery, and overall profitability and loss. This position will be based out of our company's corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC and responsibilities include yet are not limited to:


Set product line strategy, including identification and sizing of market opportunities, detailed product roadmap and commercial execution plans to address and win opportunities, and ongoing financial management and delivery of targets. Continually refine strategies to ensure the organization is pursuing the most promising and valuable business and respond to competitors and technology trends.


Set and deliver the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue/margin forecasts for both product lines; including driving the broader organization to deliver these forecasts through growth programs, promotions, new commercial offers, etc.


Develop and execute successful launch of new products. These activities include leading the marketing team accountable for developing campaign strategies and tactical plans, working with sales, service and marketing personnel to execute campaigns, and coaching and holding teams accountable for delivering on success.


Own the innovation funnel, and formalize into product roadmaps, business plans and a program pipeline, including internal and partner-led growth


Help drive digitalization of services, including migration to cloud-based models to better monitor, configure and control our company's technology assets


Engage heavily in driving growth through distribution channels. Working with our company sales and service organizations, conduct detailed analysis of distributor and authorized service contractor performance and maintain routine communication with key partners. Benchmarking new performance models and implement.


Oversee activities to directly support sales and support with larger national accounts, including gaining alignment on product roadmaps and prioritizing product quality and sustaining engineering to support those accounts.


Oversee the portfolio of and spearhead key product supplier transitions, EOL initiatives, and quality and reliability initiatives jointly with service, operations and engineering; including participating in routine analysis of quality performance and setting program priorities


Represent the needs of the our company's North America business among the our company's global business units (engineering) to drive alignment and innovation based upon clearly defined roadmaps for North America 


Prioritize areas for product cost reduction and work with key counterparts in the business to deliver results.


Jointly with operations, set detailed targets for lead time and other operational performance factors and monitor / counter-measure as needed.


Lifecycle analysis of product line and SKU performance to drive pricing, SKU management, and product extension/enhancement decisions.


Identify opportunities for operational improvement aligned with commercial priorities and lead and/or support kaizen efforts in those areas.


Jointly with service, develop account strategies for managed maintenance, extended warranty, and other services


Develop talent on the marketing team by coaching and growing the team and recruiting new talent, as needed.


Ideal candidates will have:


Bachelors’ degree (required) in Marketing, Business Administration or Engineering MBA or advanced management degree, preferred


At least 7 years’ of relevant and progressive marketing or product line leadership commercial leadership experience; marketing, sales, and support of a solutions based product line with a successful track record within a B2B environment strongly preferred


Demonstrated strategic skills with proven experience in strategic marketing coupled with the ability to prioritize and execute swiftly


Strong technical fluency and aptitude particularly in complex hardware with embedded software technology systems. Must be able to engage in technical discussions with customers, internal technical staff, and industry experts to determine best approach to provide solutions


Strong business acumen and strategic thought leadership, with the demonstrated ability to translate business needs into effective strategies and actions to execute against those strategies.


Experience working independently in a highly decentralized, process oriented, and hands-on organization with the ability to resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing, fast paced, and highly complex environment.


Highly effective project management skills with a complete understanding of business process and the ability to integrate multiple resources for integrated solutions; execute flawlessly with high attention to detail.


Strong written/oral communication, effective presentation and facilitation, team and leadership development, conflict resolution, and influence skill.


Strong communication, influencing, and consulting skills with a proven track record in quickly gaining credibility, partnering collaboratively with business leaders; and garnering support and gaining consensus.
