Job Description

As Product Manager on the Verticals team, you will be responsible for building best-in-class tailored shopping experiences for our Verticals buyers & sellers. In this role, you will be responsible for product planning and execution of areas under the Verticals category on eBay. The Product Manager will manage the product throughout the product lifecycle. This includes defining the product vision, building the business case based on financial cost benefit projections, gathering and prioritizing product features, documenting detailed product requirements, coordinating with engineering teams to get the product delivered and managing the success of the product in production. The Product Manager will influence points of coordination to ensure products are released on-time, within budget, within specifications and with the highest level of quality at release. In summary, the Product Manager owns all facets of the product and is responsible for ensuring that it supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. The specific area of focus for this Product Management role is the creation, enhancement and integration of best-in-class category-specific features into the end-to-end buyer and seller experience on eBay as well as key opportunities off-ebay. We are looking for experience in mapping customer problems to compelling product strategies, strong ability to design user focused shopping interactions, ability to work with a cross functional team to deliver the highest quality most innovative solution, and a laser focus on using analytics to improve the solution.

Qualifications

The Verticals Product Manager is expected to collaborate with business, marketing, technical and design teams to develop requirements, prioritize enhancements, and drive projects to completion.

1.       Strategy

• Understand and synthesize customer needs from market research, customer visits, analytics, competitive insights and partner/sales conversations 

•    Assess new opportunities with internal and external groups (e.g., best practices, strategic fit, product execution, business impact, operational excellence, etc.)

2.       General

•    Manage communications and expectations with internal/external stakeholders and the eBay community

•    Build positive relationships through a strong commitment to high quality and on time delivery

3.     Execution

•    Deliver product requirement documents for assigned projects, including business justification, use cases and feature prioritization 

•    Work hands-on with Development, QA, Designers, Business, Operations and Analytics teams to successfully design, build, deploy and monitor product deliverables for assigned projects. 

Job requirements

1.   MBA and/or Technical background from an education (BS or MS)

2.  Work experience (5-7 years) in the field of Information Technology

3.   eCommerce or Consumer Internet product management experience a must with strong focus on UEX design both on web and mobile platforms
