Job Description

We are looking for Filenet Enterprise Architect . Local Candidates strongly preferred. The contract is expected to start on 06-Jan-2014 and will go on till 04-Apr-2014. This position would be either W2 or 1099 or Corp to Corp Hourly .Project completion not to exceed 500 hours.

Job Description:


Scope of Work: The County of Henrico has 2 existing FileNet P8 v4.5.1 systems. P8 v4.5.1 will reach end of support April 30, 2014, making an upgrade to P8 v5.x necessary to operate a supported version. Additionally, the current systems use Oracle as the database management system. Henrico would like to migrate the data to Microsoft SQL Server.

 

Henrico’s FileNet system facilitates a number of critical business processes via capture and storage of documents. Without the FileNet infrastructure, the County could not perform many of its core business functions. Henrico is without an adequate FileNet system administrator who could independently implement the upgrade. Henrico has to rely on the technical skills, guidance and assistance provided by this Certified FileNet staff augmentation procurement in order to upgrade both the development FileNet environment and the production FileNet environment and to migrate the data from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server. The existing development and production systems are configured as follows.

The upgraded development and production systems are to be configured as follows.

 

?        IBM FileNet P8 v5.x Content Manager (same or equivalent installed components)

o        v5.2 is current release

o        v5.3 is scheduled for release shortly

o        Version decision to be made as part of the project

 

Note:         Kofax upgrade and/or patching is out of scope

Henrico will be responsible for patching P8 4.5.1 to required levels for upgrade

 

The requested staff shall provide technical expertise, guidance and support on Henrico County's FileNet P8 Upgrade and Database Migration projects under the direction of Henrico’s management. Outlined skill set required is listed below.

 

IBM FileNet P8 Upgrade and Database Migration

 

The objective of this task is to upgrade the development and production environments from FileNet P8 4.5.1 to FileNet P8 5.x and to migrate the database from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server.

 

1.        Discovery

a.        FileNet P8 Content Manager v4.5.1 system review

b.        Custom applications and other integration points

2.        Design

a.        FileNet P8 Content Manager v5.x Architecture

b.        Database migration plan

c.        Detailed installation and implementation tasks, roles and responsibilities

3.        Development System Upgrade

a.        Implement on virtual servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit or 2012

b.        Microsoft SQL Server 2012

c.        Implement WebSphere Application Server on new servers

d.        Install P8 Content Manager v5.x on new servers (same or equivalent installed components)

4.        Development System Database Migration

a.        Federate existing P8 4.5.1 development system to new P8 5.2 development system.

b.        Migrate existing P8 4.5.1 data to P8 5.x

5.        Production System Upgrade

e.        Implement on virtual servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit or 2012

f.        Microsoft SQL Server 2012

g.        Implement WebSphere Application Server on new servers

h.        Install P8 Content Manager v5.x on new servers (same or equivalent installed components)

6.        Production System Database Migration

c.        Federate existing P8 4.5.1 development system to new P8 5.2 production system.

d.        Migrate existing P8 4.5.1 data to P8 5.x

 

Recommended Skill Sets needed:

 

•        Candidate must be a FileNet Certified Professional – P8 Content Manager/Business Process Manager as Administrator and Product Technical Support, with a minimum of 6 years of work experience as a FileNet Technical Support Provider who has been responsible for maintaining, upgrading and providing support of large, mission critical FileNet P8 Systems.

 

•        Candidate must be employed by a current IBM FileNet Software ValueNet Support Provider.

 

•        Candidate must have demonstrated experience administering and managing FileNet P8 Content Manager v4.5.1 or higher on a Windows / Oracle and Windows / SQL based platforms. This includes interfacing with Oracle and SQL DBAs who were responsible for the databases and interfacing with Windows administrators who were responsible for the Operating System of server hardware hosting P8 in both instances.

 

•        Candidate must have performed (independently or functioned as essential personnel) on a minimum of 10 P8 upgrades. This should include at least one development or test environment and multiple production environments.

 

•        Candidate must have demonstrated experience with FileNet P8 upgrade planning and discovery tasks responsible for upgrading P8 v4.5.1 to v5.2 or higher. These tasks would include, but are not limited to; reviewing a current installation of the P8 backend along with various FileNet and other products which need to be compatible with an upgraded P8 backend. These products would include: Workplace, WorkplaceXT, Kofax, and APIs (Application Program Interfaces).

•        Candidate must have 3+ years experience training and/or mentoring staff for FileNet System Administration of P8 Content Manager (Basic to Advanced). Experience relevant to these topics should be evidenced:

o        Identify and discuss P8 Content Manager architecture, services, processes and hardware component integration.

o        Configuration of P8 and its impact on product’s performance

o        Application Management

o        Troubleshooting/Resolution Management – Network vs. P8 configuration

o        Systems Performance Monitoring

o        Disaster Planning and Recovery and Backups

o        Storage Management

o        Generating “health check” reports and interpretation of these reports for additional tuning of P8

 

Required Skills :

FileNet Certified Professional – P8 Content Manager/Business Process Manager as Administrator and Product Technical Support.

Work experience as a FileNet Technical Support Provider who has been responsible for maintaining, upgrading and providing support of FileNet P8 System

Must be employed by a current IBM FileNet Software ValueNet Support Provider

Client will conduct brief (5 min) phone screens on candidates they feel are qualified.  Then the client will schedule personal interviews with candidates who passed the phone screen. There will be NO exceptions to the personal interview, no Skype. 


Candidate will need to provide references from previous FileNet P8 4.5.1 to 5.x projects that have been completed.
