Job Description

Unlock and develop your research, legal, and writing skills in a fast-paced and growing company.  Become part of our small group dynamic, with the opportunity to take on major research and investigative responsibilities, that will result in producing efficient background check reports for large government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Extracting data into applicant systems.
  • Review applications and identify important information.
  • Identify missing information and develop a strategy to obtain it.
  • Conduct criminal checks, civil lawsuit checks through our public records access.
  • Organize documents.
  • Prepares lists to organize flow of background checks.
  • Edit reports for grammar and content to ensure high quality in the end product.
  • Set appointments and maintain consistent communication with every part of the team using email, phone, and in person meetings.
  • Conduct heavy research on the internet.
  • Gathers, organizes and evaluates information from the various sources used in order to prepare final report.
  • Fax, file, and scan documents.
  • Be available from 8 am-5 pm. Over-time and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

General Qualifications
  • Exceptional Organizational skills with the ability to PRIORITIZE while meeting crucial deadlines
  • Comfortable on phone in asking hard or sensitive questions
  • Excellent Communication Skills to articulate instructional and confidential request to clients, staff and applicants, reasoning and critical listening skills
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • College Degree preferred humanities, criminal justice, research, legal, political science.
  • 1 year experienced in an office environment preferred.
  • Problem Solver: develop and analyze potential solutions or improvements using rational and logical processes or innovations and creative approaches when needed.
  • Analytical Judgement: Make decisions that consider relevant facts and information, even when information received is impartial, complex or incomplete.
  • Must be able to Pass Security Clearance to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or already have one
  • Must be able to pass a background check as well as drug test

Writing Skills 

  • Editing grammar, content, and thoroughness of reports.
  • Experience writing research reports.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Google Apps (Docs, Gmail, Spreadsheets). 
  • Ability to self-supervise, take initiative, and contribute to group dynamics.

Customer Service

Client focused: Maintain confidentiality and ability to demonstrate a pleasant demeanor on the telephone and in person.

Communication skills: Ability to communicate needs and ideas to investigators, clients, vendors, and company staff.

Technology Skills

  • Technical nimbleness to learn new proprietary reporting and case management programs
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with Google Suite of apps including Gmail, Google Docs and Form
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Usage of telephones, copier, printers (paper, toner & ink change), intranet and Internet.

TYPE & COMPENSATION

  1.  FULL TIME TEMPORARY (1-3 MONTHS) POSITION WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR EXTENSION DEPENDING ON PROJECTS
