Job Description

Edmonton Airports is looking for a self-motivated, problem-solving manager to work directly with the Director, Project Delivery to support and ensure successful project execution.  You must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic, collaborative work environment and maintain alignment to organizational standards, practices and policies while successfully responding to changing priorities. You are very experienced leading and managing projects that involve people, process and technology to achieve business outcomes. You are well-versed in multiple project management methodologies and techniques and can tailor a process to ensure the best outcomes are obtained from your team. You care about the well-being of the team, communicate effectively and continuously look to improve project delivery.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Project Delivery, you are a member of the Operations, Infrastructure & Energy management team and are focused on providing leadership and direction to the project management team. You collaborate with other Strategic Business Units (SBU) to develop and manage all aspects of project execution including project planning, scoping, procurement, design, commissioning, turnover and closeout so that projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Lead project delivery using appropriate project methodology that is agile and puts emphasis on decision making quality and timely project delivery. Monitor and ensure compliance to standards
  • Maintain and update our project management framework as necessary to support efficient project delivery
  • Create and maintain a strong team that demonstrates a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented manner of working
  • Lead, advocate and administer project/construction safety program. Openly share lessons learned to demonstrate safety accountability and improvement of safety performance
  •  Support the Senior Management Team to engage in efficient project prioritization
  • Develop positive relationships with sponsors, management, and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery
  • Utilize appropriate change management techniques, considering people, process and technology to implement process improvements/changes
  • Report on resource allocation and project portfolio performance, providing a real-time and comprehensive data
  • Ensure resource and priorities are in alignment with broader corporate goals, initiatives and timelines
  • Conduct post-project assessment and evaluation including project results, activities and processes
  • Recognize team based on contribution and performance. Maintain a positive work environment that supports self-direction and provides structure to optimize team experience, skills, knowledge and capability
  • Provide direction and/or guidance to third party developments (Tenant developments)

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering or Management, equivalencies will be considered. Holding an MBA or Advanced Degree is an asset
  • 5 years leading teams, 7-10 years of project management experience on large, diverse programs
  • Project Management Education and Training (Having a PMP or PgMP designation an asset)
  • Related experience in an airport environment is an asset
  • Effective change leadership and Digital/ERP project implementation experience is considered an asset

  • Planning, contract administration, business management, budgeting, estimating and scheduling
  • Project budgeting, forecasting and integration with overall corporate business and financial processes
  • Setting quantifiable goals, data collection and analysis, and measuring results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Flexible and adaptable to demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal record check is required
