The Regis Company is a forward-thinking leadership and business consulting firm that creates interactive business simulations for Fortune 500 clients and large government agencies. We’re headquartered in beautiful downtown Golden, Colorado—home of Rocky Mountain spring water and the Colorado Alpine Club. We are looking for a gifted professional editor with uncanny copy editing, proofreading, and document management skills to help us out on a project and “as needed” basis.

Job Description

You are a trained editor and proofreader with a knack for picking out mistakes in text, graphics, electronic media—and everything else you see.  You are a quick learner, an MS Office Guru and can work diplomatically with a variety of personalities. How you’ll spend your time:

  • Performing copy editing and proofreading for written documents of all varieties
  • Examining content for logic, clarity, and consistency of message across projects
  • Verifying accuracy and checking sources of content when necessary
  • Ensuring adherence to our best practices and style guides
  • Maintaining and developing client- or project-specific style guidelines, when applicable
  • Editing and ensuring quality of online content, including text, multimedia, HTML, and XML assets
  • Performing technical quality assurance to verify functionality of online simulations and micro-simulations
  • Working collaboratively with all staff, including project managers, other QA editors, program directors, and instructional designers
  • Ensuring QA task deadlines are met
  • Uploading and formatting approved documents on the company wiki or the SharePoint site

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or a similar discipline
  • At least five years of editing experience
  • High-level copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications, and the ability to learn and absorb other styles as needed
  • Advanced-level competency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, XML, and CSS, preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while achieving the quality standards established for each project
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects at the same time while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to focus and work independently (as needed) without supervision
  • Availability to be physically present in our Golden office 1-2 times per week as needed
