Leverage your knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory. In this position, you create learning materials to support key learning and behavior change in the client’s business environment. Your responsibilities include understanding the client’s problems and issues in a business context, creating materials for a variety of learning modalities, including creating leader guides and participant materials that support mental model-driven design. As an associate design consultant, we expect you to bring exceptional technical and writing skills. You work with a team of designers in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment in which your flexibility and drive get the job done. Your knowledge and skill execute the vision for our outstanding learning products and ensure high-quality deliverables to support world-class learning. 

More about how you’ll spend your day:

• You quickly gain an understanding of the client’s business, strategic objectives and issues and use them to inform development of the learning materials that support the vision for the end product. 

• Throughout the project, you work with your teammates to ensure all team members are able to meet their commitments. You coordinate with the product owner to guide and facilitate project activities to ensure client goals are met according to identified constraints.

• You create product documentation such as design flows, wireframes and user stories to communicate the design architecture and requirements at the appropriate level of detail for your audience (clients, peers and development team members).

• You produce creative learning materials in a wide variety of formats to support the learner experience – online, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and PDF.

• You manage your time and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality materials and you communicate issues and blockers appropriately to your project team – no one likes surprises.

• MS or MBA in a business, instructional design or education discipline

• A minimum of three years of experience designing learning programs for professionals in the accounting, finance and compliance area.

• Exposure to, and interest in, business simulations or rich multi-media learning 

• Demonstrated knowledge and thought leadership in adult learning theory 

• Experience creating learning programs focused on core thinking practices – creative, critical, and systems thinking

• A commitment to learning and expanding your areas of expertise – not just in learning design, but in leadership and business acumen as well

• Ability to negotiate scope, schedule, and effort tradeoffs with subject matter experts or team members based on value to the learner and the program

• Advanced level competency with MS Word and Excel

• Exceptional personal, written and presentation skills – executive presence – authentic, respectful and kind

• Innovation, an eye for detail, and strong communication skills with the self-confidence and willingness to tackle unchartered territory

• Pride in producing a quality work product whether completed individually or as part of a team

• Goal-oriented mindset with a drive to meet identified project success measures
