Job Description

As a key member of the project team, you will assist selected military facilities in the quality control review and submittal of Cost-to-Complete (CTC) estimates for on-going environmental investigation, remedial design, interim remedial actions, remedial construction, and long-term operation of remediation systems and/or monitoring to include Installation Restoration Program (IRP), Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP), Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), and Compliance-related cleanup sites.

You will be responsible for data validation, quality control review, and audit trail validation for CTC estimates each fiscal year. Experience with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) processes and understanding of federal contracts is required. You will also provide environmental remedial support for commercial and government clients to ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.

What you’ll be doing:
• Performing data validation/quality control review of CTC estimates
• Preparing auditable CTC estimates for on-going environmental investigation, remedial design, interim remedial actions, remedial construction, and long term operation of remediation systems and/or monitoring at IRP/MMRP, BRAC, and Compliance-related cleanup sites
• Authoring technical work plans for environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Helping prepare portions of technical documents including but not limited to Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, RCRA Facility Investigations, RCRA Corrective Measures Studies
• Completing environmental sample collection (soil, groundwater, air, vapor)
• Conducting field oversight of environmental investigation and remediation projects including, but not limited to various drilling methods (auger, direct-push), soil and groundwater remediation, underground storage tanks (UST)/aboveground storage tanks (AST) tank management

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the team:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering
• 6+ years of environmental experience with at least 1 year of performing data validation on large-scale government contracts and developing CTC estimates
• Successful completion of Environmental Compliance and Remediation projects under various regulatory programs including a respectable subset of the following: CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS), UST/ AST/Leaking Storage Tanks (UST)
• Ability to obtain and maintain access and clearance for entry into Federal Installations
• Articulate communicator – written and verbal
• Computer proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
• Problem solving ability, resourcefulness and pride of ownership
• Knowledge of fundamental site safety protocol
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
• Capable of performing detailed oriented work
• Ability to work independently given an established set of objectives
• OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training
• Availability to travel 25% without restrictions within the U.S.
