Your mission: to manage the AWS cloud infrastructure for a high traffic web environment that is fast, secure, reliable and available. Easy as pie, right? Our Platform as a Service (PaaS) is the focus of the DevOps team. We are building key processes and systems that deliver a world class customer experience through superior operational quality, market-leading uptimes, and service excellence. What you’ll be doing:
• Managing software builds and deployments across multiple environments within the AWS infrastructure
• Mentoring, coaching and cajoling junior team members and development colleagues toward best practices and sound methodologies
• Maintaining software infrastructure components, including application and database servers
• Implementing and maintaining production system monitors
• Managing security and access to production and testing environments
• Supporting continuous integration services using Jenkins
• Working with your product and development teams to spec new infrastructure requirements
• Managing and aggregating log files using Logstash or Splunk
• Creating and managing configuration of infrastructure using Chef
• Continuously seeking new methods for improving the operation while mitigating risk
• Applying OS patches and upgrades as appropriate
• Thinking through a tough challenge over a game of table tennis

What you’ll bring with you:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 8 years of experience working in infrastructure, operations or configuration management with deep experience supporting web based (SaaS, mobile) products
• AWS Web Services Certification, with points for HIPAA compliant application experience
• A creative, articulate and competent communicator – able to deliver your message clearly, concisely and confidently
• Experience working with Linux and an understanding of what it means to operate in a 24/7 production environment.
• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure monitoring tools such as Chef or Bash.
• You have worked in an emerging growth company so you know what it means to shift priorities and wear a bunch of hats
• Open Source tools are your preferred sandbox and you are comfortable with a good subset of the following: RabbitMQ, Logstash, Git Memchached, Redis/Sentinel, Stingray, Magento, Nagios, Rails, Graphite, Git, Kafka, Nginx, DropWizare, MongoDB, NoSQL, Kibana, Jenkins, HAProxy
• You are an organized professional capable of managing your time, tasks and activities without daily guidance
• You have a talent for making sense out of obscurity – you immediately begin executing concepts in your mind the moment someone has an idea
• Building strong and long-standing relationships is an important part of your being
• You can be patient and thrive even in the midst of intermittent ambiguity
