Job Title: Document Control Speciialist

 

Dept/ Work Area:  R&D Engineering                          

 

Rate:  Rate:  $15.00-$20.00/Hour

 

Hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

 

Location:  11100 W 82nd Street Lenexa, Kansas 66214

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

Compiles and maintains control records and related files to release Engineering Changes, blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments by performing the following duties.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsible for the integrity of the Bill of Materials in relation to part numbers, units of measure and ensuring proper documentation of Engineering Change Requests.

 

Examine documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.

 

Confer with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.

 

May be responsible to assist Engineering to document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on the production floor.

 

Responsible to input manufacturing standards and changes according to Engineering requirements into ERP system.

 

Post changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.

 

Maintains related files.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:  High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).  Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the manufacturing industry; three years practical experience or a combination of both training and practical experience.

Skill at:  Computer knowledge, proficient with MS Office programs is a must. The ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. Staying focused on the task at hand. Position requires high emphasis on reliability, detail and organization. Must possess analytical skills for process documentation.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Finger dexterity for computer entry.  Must be able to reach, stretch and bend.  Required being on your feet for extended periods of time.
