Job Description

Kitware, Inc. is actively seeking a Compliance Specialist to work with a high-tech software company to assist in handling matters that are relevant to ensuring the Company’s compliance with local, state and federal laws.

 

Job duties of this position will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assisting with drafting new or updating existing policies
  • Answering employee questions specific to policies, laws and regulations
  • Conducting company-wide internal reviews and audits (Human Resources, Financial, Etc.)
  • Reviewing Safe Harbor payment calculations for accuracy
  • Completing Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 5500 filings
  • Assisting with all aspects of federal Government compliance reporting

Qualifications

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or four years of experience in the fields of audit, legal or government compliance.  While it is not necessary for the candidate to have an advanced understanding of specific accounting or auditing software and systems, the candidate will be expected to learn on the job.  Successful candidates will be detail oriented, have extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.  Candidates must have the ability to conduct research and propose appropriate solutions.  Though this position reports directly to the Compliance Officer, candidates must have an ability to take direction from multiple individuals and prioritize accordingly.
