Job Description

Line2 is looking for a hands-on leader to manage and expand its technical and carrier operations. The candidate will be responsible for the 24/7 operation of the company’s cloud platform which serves both web and VoIP traffic. The role will also be responsible for managing carrier partners and telecom operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Direct and manage technical operations infrastructure involving data center, network, system, and applications.

2. Oversee VoIP business operations and handle telephony partner relationships. 

3. Govern billing operations, overseeing vendor relationships for credit card processing and billing.

4. Monitor and supervise Line2’s platform uptime, performance, costs and anti-fraud systems.

5. Lead and grow team of systems administrators, carrier operators and fraud analysts.

The candidate should have a broad range of technology skills to maintain 24/7 uptime and reliability for all customer facing systems. 

  • Manage and support a customer-facing application platform consisting of highly available Microsoft IIS, MS SQL Server and proprietary VoIP servers, all running on top of a VMware ESXi virtual environment. 
  • Responsible for vendor relationships and contracts, including voice and messaging providers, billing and payment processors, and strategic partners providing technology for Line2.
  • Develop, establish, and oversee systems/procedures to ensure adequate billing processes and compliance.   
  • Ensure platform security and provide support of the networked server environment, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPN servers, and access to carrier networks.
  • Work with fraud analysts to develop and update fraud monitoring and remediation procedures.
  • Schedule and oversee round-the-clock support responsibilities for production systems availability and performance, along with business hours support for development environments and internal IT.
  • Work closely with our Director of Engineering to develop and support strategic and project initiatives. 
  • Communicate clearly using written and verbal means to keep stakeholders informed on system status and ongoing work. Think quickly and decisively when dealing with production support issues.

Qualifications

  • 7 - 10 years of direct experience in Operations and Systems Management, both in support and build out.
  • Proven strong IT and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in both dedicated data center and cloud computing environments.
  • Friendly demeanor, team player, and willingness to help other with their technology problems.
  • Solid experience with virtual (VMWare) and cloud (AWS/AZURE) environments as well as relational databases. 
  • Strong desire to work for a private, high growth company; with attention to detail and ability to grow.
