Job Description

Provides assistance to the call center manager in managing the day to day operations of the call center. Leads by example when providing assistance, resolutions and follow-through to customers with inquires related to claims, eligibility and benefits. Additional duties are listed below.

 

  • Assist department manager in managing Customer Service Representative performances to meet department standards and goals.  
  • Monitor call and representative performance via recorded calls and side-by-side monitoring.
  • Coach and provide constructive feedback to representatives
  • Responsible for call center staffing throughout the day including breaks and lunches.  
  • Identifies opportunities for department improvement and makes recommendations to department manager.
  • Trains new and existing staff on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison between customer service and other departments.
  • Assigns special projects to team.
  • Answers incoming calls and makes follow up calls to customers.

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed optician, ABO/NCLE certified is REQUIRED.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of Customer Service Supervisor experience (required) in a managed healthcare environment (preferred).
  • 2-3 years customer service experience in a managed health care setting (medicaid/medicare) preferred.
  • Bilingual (fluent) in SPANISH is a plus.
  • Prior vision experience preferred.
  • Provider and member grievances and appeals experience a plus.
