The area: Managed Staffing

The role: VoIP Specialist

As the VoIP Specialist you will be responsible for planning, and implementing VoIP consulting engagements; set goals, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization. Although the primary focus of this position is to implement and support VoIP installations, you may also be tasked with general network support and build-outs including security, routing, switching, wireless, and other network related duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Document and diagram system design/architecture
  • Define and develop uniform dial plan
  • Recommend administrative applications
  • Trunking - ISDN, SIP
  • Development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Hardware installation
  • Equipment configuration
  • Ongoing technical support
  • Troubleshooting
  • On-site off hours support

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Prior technology VoIP implementation and support experience with Enterprise type accounts
  • Experience in design, implementation, maintaining and troubleshooting a CISCO VoIP environment.
  • Maintains data, voice or video network hardware and systems; investigates and resolves network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes, isolates and resolves errors; assesses and updates older networks as needed and in accordance with specified plans.
  • Installs and maintains Voice facilities, including hardware, software, and system data for an enterprise network. 
  • Determines appropriate standard testing routines or scripts; may test various voice or data equipment such as routers, switches, hubs or optical equipment, or multi-function switches, end offices, signaling transfer points, voice mail, and call management system, etc. for maintenance.
  • Strong Understanding of VoIP concepts.
  • Experience with CISCO - such as switches, routers, firewalls, voice gateways, and Communications Manager.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
