Job Description

Summary:  Responsible for the gathering of financial data related to fixed assets and the preparation of schedules and reports for use by Senior Management. 

Responsibilities

Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting system, ensuring appropriate depreciable lives for book and tax purposes.

Ensure daily transactions such as additions, retirements, transfers and adjustments comply with established policies and standards.

Review capital addition invoices to ensure appropriate classification.

Prepare monthly/quarterly Fixed Asset Roll forwards.

Prepare applicable monthly reconciliations.

Prepare monthly closing Journal Entries as required.

Prepare Fixed Asset schedules as requested for external and internal financial audits and respond to audit inquiries.

Provide support as needed to Tax Department.

Provide Business Units with monthly and other periodic reports.

Participate in preparation, maintenance, and adherence to Fixed Asset policies and procedures.

Coordinate with Project Accounting with respect to CIP, IDSW and Purchased software and provide accounting support when appropriate.

Conduct periodic reviews and analyses of Fixed Asset data to ensure consistency, completeness, and conformity with established criteria.

Analyze variances and prepare variance explanation reports.

Perform special projects as needed.




Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 2+ years in Fixed Assets.

Demonstrated knowledge of Fixed Asset accounting .

Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team oriented environment.

Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.

Ability to maintain work priorities in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to understand processes and identify when changes are needed.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications.
