Position Description:


As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in accelerating customers’ implementation and adoption of Federated Authentication and Single Sign On Authentication solution and integration products.


By working directly customers, you will identify specific functional areas where the SSO solution fits within the customer's business and quantify the benefit. Through engagement in the implementation process, you will provide consultative services to customers to ensure their successful configuration and utilization of the solution. As a partner with the Client Care team, you will provide vital technical expertise, support and troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve client production support issues. 



Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the functional architecture of Authentication and SSO solution and be the go-to subject matter expert.
  • Work with employees and customers to explain complex, technical SSO and user provisioning concepts and methodologies in a way that non-technical people can understand.
  • Provide training on features and troubleshooting methods.
  • Act as an internal technical consultant to participate at various points in the sales and implementation process as necessary to evaluate customer SSO eligibility requirements.
  • Work directly with customers’ IT personnel to establish SSO / Federated Authentication partnerships, including:
  • Collecting and analyzing customer SSO metadata
  • Sharing and explaining SSO metadata
  • Configuring customer metadata in SP
  • Setting up and coordinating customer acceptance testing
  • Troubleshooting SSO issues
  • Work with client care to provide level 3 technical support for SSO issues and identify and troubleshoot client issues in production.
  • Maintain existing SSO implementations through status changes such as certificate expirations or product changes.
  • Create and maintain internal process documentation for SSO topics.
  • Evaluate existing systems, process, and/or user needs to analyze, recommend, design, and develop tools and processes to streamline the implementation of SSO/Federated Authentication.
  • Champion new SSO requirements to Product Management and Product Engineering.
  • Effectively report and communicate project status to project teams, including customer stakeholders and internal management teams.  

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of key SSO and Federated Authentication concepts.
  • Working knowledge of SSO standard protocols, including SAML 2.0 and WS-Federation.
  • Experience installing, configuring and working with one or more common third party federated platforms such as Microsoft’s Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), PingFederate, Oracle Identity Federation (OIF), SiteMinder, or similar.
  • Experience creating and managing Windows PowerShell scripts.
  • Experience importing/exporting and synchronizing user data between user management systems.
  • Development experience with Microsoft Technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, etc.).
  • Familiarity with and ability to use important SSO troubleshooting tools such as:
  • SAML decoders
  • Fiddler and/or Chrome Dev Tools
  • The Windows Event Viewer
  • Experience working in teams that use Agile delivery methodologies and test driven development.
  • Strong Google-fu.
  • Ability to actively participate in customer meetings and work directly with customer IT personnel on implementation projects.
  • The ability to create clear, concise technical documents and technical design diagrams.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline or equivalent experience.
