Length of Engagement: 6+ month contract with possible extension

Position Description:


Experienced Java SDET Engineer/QA Automation Engineer to work with Business Analysts, Project Managers and other Software Engineers to understand the features and technical implementation of the web service-based architecture. Qualified candidates will have hands on experience in the design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of test automation programs.


Responsibilities:


  • Create software tools used to perform build verification and regression tests.
  • Employ off the shelf tools and libraries to automate and perform regression tests.
  • Design and automate test cases and write test plans and develop supporting test tools.
  • Build SQL queries to validate system behavior.
  • Configure, and maintain test environments.
  • Participate in the development lifecycle, including the design review and code review process.
  • Conduct regular regression tests on a periodic basis to ensure performance levels of production systems.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and/or test automation experience, with at least 3 years’ experience with web-based applications, Java programming language strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SQL Databases writing queries and understanding database programmability.
  • Experience defining and implementing testing frameworks with
  • Experience with environment set up and configuration.
  • Proven experience in identifying the relationship of bugs to software code.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions.
  • Work with a high degree of independence on projects with a passion for quality software .
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent) in related relevant field.
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office tools.
