Position Description:

The Senior Interface Systems Analyst/Architect is responsible for the design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of complex interface systems. This person installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and modifies application software. The Senior Interface Systems Analyst/Architect works as part of a team consisting of HID, external vendors, and client department personnel to ensure systems are developed, installed, and maintained for optimizing departmental resources. This person works with other team members to provide mentoring and project assignments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds, and installs interfaces. Serves as a consultant for project managers and system developers in defining solutions that will achieve objectives for technical and application support. Complies with overall information management best practices. Implements interface modifications. 
  • Assists with design of complex interface solutions utilizing advanced knowledge of interface development tools, core applications, and vendor technical specifications. 
  • Participates in the implementation and recommendation of improvements to the overall approach to information management. 
  • Develop and implement complex interface specifications and standards. Plans and executes testing and implementation of major systems. Evaluates technology and techniques to implement and maintain interfaces. 
  • Performs routine and customary monitoring activities to ensure environment is stable and capable of meeting on-going business needs. Develops, implements, and tests backup and recovery plans. 
  • Applies project management methodology and utilizes standard project management for software in development and maintenance of project plans. Acts as a liaison to other teams and external vendors in support of key projects.
  • Reports status and progress of projects to key stakeholders. 
  • Maintains project documentation (resources used, decision, outcomes, agreements, etc.). 
  • Identifies realistic sequencing of work based on business/customer needs and time constraints. Applies project management methodology and utilizes standard project management software in the development and maintenance of project plans. 
  • Provides mentoring and training for new and current Interface team members in the areas of interface development tools, coding languages, and existing interface design. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a healthcare setting or with interface development. 
  • Experience organizing and managing detailed information and working with and leading teams. 
  • Experience/knowledge of system architecture, data structures, database concepts, application tailoring tools, commands, system utilities, and report writing tools. 
  • Experience with design and implementation of Cloverleaf interfaces and data integration. 
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Health Level 7 standard. 
  • Experience with UNIX/AIX and Unix Shell programming. 
  • Experience with programming TCL or other development languages. 
  • Experience with interface development, implementation, and management. 
  • Experience with Healthcare Information Systems implementation. 
  • Experience with GE Centricity Enterprise or Centricity Business applications is preferred. 
  • Experience and understanding of relational databases and Client/Server environments. 
  • Experience with TCP/IP Networking and working knowledge of FTP, Telnet, nslookup, etc. 
  • Cloverleaf level 2 certification strongly preferred.
