Position Description:

This position involves testing proprietary network management and administration applications. Must be a test engineers with both GUI and lower level testing experience. This position primarily involves manual testing but should be familiar with programming/scripting/automation concepts.  

Responsibilities:

• White-box and Black-box software testing.
• Develop project testing strategy to maximize coverage with available resources.
• Develop test plans to comply with government testing standards.
• Develop and setup test scenarios based on customer feedback.
• Provide clear, detailed bug descriptions.
  Define test procedures/scripts for junior QA/QC
• Track defects with internal product groups and outside vendors to resolution.
• Execute manual test scripts / use case scenarios.
• Present and defend quality status to development and management teams.
• Assist in the development process by contributing to design and estimates.
• Have primary responsibility for the quality levels maintained in the products.
• Help create customer-facing documentation and deliverables such as DVDs or Virtual Machines.

Required Experience:

• Full product life cycle testing on end user facing, desktop applications
• 5+ years QA or test engineering experience, required.
• 3+ dedicated years testing on Windows applications, required.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows 7/8, and Windows Server 2008/2012
• Ability to multi-task and manage various project related duties.
• Ability to perform job assignment with limited supervision
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• BS in related field or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience:

• Experience testing software built on Microsoft .NET
• Experience with programming or scripting languages, desired. (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Perl)
• Familiarity with Windows Domain and Active Directory administration
• Networks
  • Networking Devices (Switches, Routers, Firewalls)
  • Networking Protocols (TCP, UDP, SSH, HTTP, SNMP, etc)
  • Packet sniffing software (Wireshark)
  • Cisco IOS devices
• Familiarity with security concepts like PKI
• Testing Infrastructure
  • Virtual machines (VMWare)
  • Hard Drive Imaging tools (Ghost, Deploy Center, etc.)
