Position Description:

Work within a team to create and manage high performance imaging technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and test image processing algorithms to classify defects in lumber.
• Interact with customers to capture requirements for defect classification.
• Research and create new algorithms/methods for locating and classifying defects in lumber.
• Maintain code models in Python, MATLAB or C++ code for defect detection and computational geometry.
• Work with Senior Software Engineers to integrate code into production modules.

​Required Experience:

• The position requires a Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience in image analysis, with a focus on image processing or a related field.
• Experience in image analysis algorithm development, and/or previous employment in an applied research setting.
• Good mathematical and troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms is a plus.
• Software development experience, with C, C++, C# or Python is also a plus.
