Job Description

Job Purpose

A- The senior accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to:

    • Prepare accurate and timely management and financial reports and statements
    • Analyze financial information
    • Ensure appropriate accounting control procedures

B- Management Reporting job purpose covers:

    • All Budget/Forecast-Management Reporting and controlling activities at the BU
    • In particular, devising appropriate measures of revenues and costs allowing BU management to identify improvement opportunities

C- General/Financial accounting job purpose covers:

    • All general ledger accounting  activities at the BU
    • All financial reporting activities at the BU, and more specifically the monthly financial reporting
    • All auditing and tax issues

Principal Accountabilities

A- In terms of Management Reporting:

    • Ensures the continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
    • Approves the final version of Plans, Budgets and Forecasts to be submitted to the GM
    • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
    • Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
    • Analyzes financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources, and provides input to the strategic recommendations
    • Supports the BU in understanding its costs of goods and services and margins
    • Supervises the proper maintaining of the chart of accounts and the list of analytical accounts, transfer charges and cost accounting definitions necessary to perform the controlling mission

B- In terms of Financial Accounting:

    • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, thus ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
    • Resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities
    • Establishes and monitors the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
    • Compiles and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
    • Ensures all financial reporting are met in quality and deadlines
    • Monitors and support taxation issues
    • Supports auditor in the financial audit preparation and coordinates the audit process

Communications and Working Relationships

A- In terms of Management Reporting:

    • Works with the Management Reporting & Central Accounting Unit Head (if in the Head Office) or with the Delocalized Financial Officer 9if in a BU) in all matters related to Management Reporting

B- In terms of Financial Accounting:

    • Interfaces with the Accountant(s) of the Head Office and the Delocalized Financial Offiers of the BUs on all aspects of general/financial accounting
    • Works with the Verification Unit Head in all matters related to Financial Accounting
    • Interfaces with auditors for all matters related to financial audit
    • Interfaces with Zakat/Tax manager for all matters related to tax 

Qualifications

1- MS in accounting or finance with knowledge of:

    • Accepted accounting practices and principles
    • Economic principles
    • Auditing practices and principles
    • Applicable laws, codes and regulations

2- Strong skills/ability in :

    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Problem analysis / problem-solving 
    • Judgment and pro-activity
    • Supervision/ Planning, organizing / scheduling and monitoring
    • Communication
    • Stress tolerance

3- Minimum 5 years experience as an accountant in a company of Rawabi’s size or larger

4- IT literacy (experience with Oracle ERP is a plus)

5- Experience in the GCC is a plus (preferably in Saudi Arabia)

6- Fluent in English – Arabic language fluency a plus
