Job Description

We are seeking a multi-talented summer intern with both web development skills and high interest and background in data-focused journalism. This person will work with journalists around the newsroom to deepen our storytelling online. He or she will be expected to help analyze data and build standalone interactive editorial content for StarTribune.com and mobile platforms. He or she would also be available to provide preliminary data and statistical analysis to reporters and editors.

Our mobile goals have an increasingly high priority, and this person will be expected to craft solutions that work well on mobile devices.

There's potential for a candidate to take a leading role in developing newsroom tools to improve workflow for digital content beyond written articles and traditional multimedia.

Our web design team is now more than ever working quickly to build our data visualization tools, and this person will be a part of that effort as well.
