Job Description

The Star Tribune has immediate openings for Part-time Journeyman Pressman to assist in the print production of its newspaper and commercial press products.

Duties: Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and running of the presses. Works cooperatively with press room employees to ensure quality standards and deadlines are met.

Hours and Pay: Shifts and start times vary.  Press production is a 7 day a week 365 day per year operation. Part-time hours are up to 21 hours per week with an hourly wage of $28.77.  This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Requirements: Previous pressman experience working on web offset presses. Skilled in operation of Goss Headliner Offset press with complete knowledge of inking, pasters and folders. Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well under pressure of deadlines, strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated focus on quality. Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to distinguish between colors.

Selected candidates will be required to complete a job specific physical, drug test and background check and I9 verification as a condition of employment.
