Job Description

We are seeking an experienced editor who has strong copy editing and headline writing skills along with good news judgment. This journalist must be flexible and versatile and must work to ensure that content meets Star Tribune standards for quality, accuracy, style and taste. Must have strong collaboration and communication skills, a team spirit and a flexible approach to work. Must be able to work quickly and calmly under pressure, take initiative and meet deadlines. Editing will be for local and wire news, as well as for business, features and sports. Must be willing to learn and work on multiple platforms and edit and post stories on StarTribune.com and other digital products.

Qualifications

Successful candidate must have extensive editing and production experience, as well as top-notch editing and headline writing skills. Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure and juggle several tasks at once. Top candidates will take an editing/headline writing test. We are looking for someone willing to work 5 6-hour shifts a week.
