Job Description

Primary responsibility is to enhance, expand, and create new marketer customer relationships to sell full print, digital, mobile, and app. product portfolio to Major Accounts.  Will be expected to maintain comprehensive understanding of competitive media and understand how the utilization of other media sources fit with customer’s strategic business objectives.  Maintains a high level of expertise in marketing communications and focuses efforts on identifying target initiatives for each account.  Develops thorough understanding of customer’s business by researching and maintaining current knowledge on all customers’ industries.

Requires:
•    Consultative seller in fast paced creative environment
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Attention to detail
•    Demonstrated territory management skills
•    Demonstrated ability to work complex organizations and agencies
•    Bachelor degree or equivalent experience  (5 years’ experience)
•    Experience in the development / execution of marketing and strategic planning
•    Ability to leverage the breadth and depth of Star Tribune resources to drive revenue performance
•    Highly developed negotiation, presentation and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to sell wide range of products and services
•    Demonstrated maintenance and application of industry knowledge
•    Demonstrated ability to utilize computer (Internet, PowerPoint, Contact Management, etc.)
•    Must have proof of valid driver’s license, auto insurance and have reliable transportation

Prefer:  
•    Experience selling advertising
•    Superior skills in creative problem solving
•    Strongly prefer understanding of competitive media
•    Ability to probe and develop a comprehensive understanding of customer needs
