Job Description

The Star Tribune Media Company is seeking a Sr. Talent Management Specialist with experience in the acquisition, development and management of talent. This position partners with managers on talent management processes and tools, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management and employee development.  With a strong initial focus on workforce planning and talent acquisition, the Sr. Talent Management Specialist works closely with hiring managers throughout the talent acquisition process, identifying and developing strategies that attract top talent, using a variety of sourcing techniques to search, screen, identify and assess candidates.

• Collaborates with managers to identify talent acquisition, selection and retention strategies for key positions/critical talent pools
• Partners with hiring managers and HR to develop proactive, innovative recruitment and sourcing strategies to develop high quality active and passive candidate pipelines
• Demonstrates creativity and current knowledge of innovative recruiting methods, using traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates
• Oversees on-boarding process, including candidate offers, pre-employment screenings and tests, and new hire orientation
• Partners with Internal Communications to develop and foster an employee brand and environment that ensures a Top Workplace culture
• Emerges as expert UltiPro user for Recruitment and Onboarding, working with HR Technology to define talent acquisition and onboarding process workflows, develop training for managers and employees, and leading process and technology adoption

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years relevant talent management experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Solid foundation in recruiting processes, workforce management, HR practices and talent development
• Strong understanding of/experience with technology and social media
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and collaboration skills; ability to work with diverse groups
• Talent Acquisition, Generalist, OD, or L&D background strongly preferred
• High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day work
• Effective change leader
