Job Description

The Sports Department has three temporary openings for clerks who will typically work 12 hours per week, generally in three four-hour evening shifts.  Availability to work nights and weekends is a must.  These positions will start in August and continue into mid-June 2016.

These clerks will answer telephones and take and compile high school sports box score information in a timely and accurate manner.  The clerks must have the ability to discern highlights for use in high school sports roundups and be able to write short summaries about games based on highlights.  They will also help compile statistics for our high school sports database.  In that compilation, they will be in constant contact with high school coaches and will be asked to provide written content for our website based on information gained from these conversations.

Qualifications

Successful applicants must be able to answer phones in a courteous and professional manner. Must be able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.  Requires a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.  Must have proficient and accurate typing skills along with familiarity with computers in general and knowledge about high school sports, particularly in Minnesota.
