Job Description

The Interim Finance Coordinator receives general guidance from the President and from the General Manager, as necessary.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. To work with the rest of the Executive Committee in supporting their projects as well as furthering the goals of the Society as a whole (in particular, supporting the VP Student Life with reorganizing club financing)

  2. To contribute to the smooth functioning of the SSMU Office, including helping with accounting procedures and contributing to office responsibilities

  3. Coordinate and support staff working with the portfolio of the Vice President (Finance)

  4. Special projects as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. High pressure work environment from both an operational and political perspective.

  2. Equipment/applications used:  Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Novell environment (GroupWise, Vibe), Google environment (Google docs, Gmail, Google Drive).

  3. Flexibility to work under multiple executive portfolios, work with ad hoc tasks

 

Qualifications

  1. Ability to work in a team and autonomously.

  2. Experience in working at the society (i.e. councilor, senator, executive, member of a committee)

  3. Leadership and proven organization skills

  4. High level of diplomacy, integrity, and strong work ethic

  5.  Good communication skills both verbal and written

Additional Information

  • Paid position: $17.13 per hour;
  • Hours: an average of 35 hours per week;
  • Contract: July 23rd, 2018 to August 13th, 2018;
