Job Description

Volunteer Role:

Reporting to the Legislative Council, the Committee will be responsible for reviewing every Service  once every school year  to ensure that they meet the definition and mandatory characteristics of a Service as set out in the Internal Regulations of Student Groups and to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of students.

  1. Review and make recommendations on the approval of applications for Service status; 
  2. Evaluate all Services during fall and winter semester;
  3. Communicate the service review report to the services once completed as well as to the student body;
  4. Review and make recommendations for the approval of proposed changes to Service Constitutions;    
  5. Comply with all its other obligations as laid out in the Internal Regulations of Student Groups; and
  6. Review and make recommendations to the Services Review Committee’s terms of reference at the end of the year. 

Qualifications

  • Must be a Member of the Society
  • Knowledge of SSMU Services required
  • Knowledge of Community Involvement and Engagement an asset

Additional Information

  • Volunteer position;
  • Time Commitment: Average of 1-2 hours per week;
  • Bi-weekly meetings;
  • Deadline to apply is November 30, 2020 by 5:00 PM
