Job Description

Volunteer Role:

Reporting to both the Board of Directors the Legislative Council (though only accountable to Legislative Council), the Committee will be responsible for reviewing the thical nature of the Society's business transactions. This Committee is going through some overhall so some responsibilities of the Committee may vary, but in general responsibilities can include:

  • Reviewing any transaction referred to it by the Legislative Council;
  • Reviewing all of the Society's investments to see if they are in-line with our ethical investment mandates highlighted in the "Purchasing Policy," and the "Policy Regarding Five Year Ethical Investment Plan";
  • Reviewing all of the Society's suppliers in order to update the list of ethical & not-ethical suppliers;
  • Prepare semesterly reports to Legislative Council on the above research; and
  • If of interest to any particular Committee member, researching and suggesting ethical investments for the Investment Portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Member of the Society.

  • Volunteer position;
  • Time Commitment: Average of 2 hours per week.
