Job Description

Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for the position of Assistant Football Coach. This is a full-time, 10 months, exempt position located in Upland, Indiana.  Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Within the framework of the Taylor University Intercollegiate Athletic mission statement, effectively fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the assistant football coach and other duties as assigned. Major areas of responsibility include: coaching, assisting with the development and recruitment of student athletes; assisting in the planning strategies that promote the program across the institution and among key stakeholders, including alumni and parents; striving to continuously improve the program in ways that support team unity and the academic, spiritual and leadership development of the athletes. Additional responsibilities will be assigned to create the full -time position in an area that reflects the strengths and expertise of the candidate.


Knowledge of and committed to Taylor University mission statement and philosophy, the NAIA, and conference rules and regulations, Bachelor’s Degree  with at least two years of coaching experience.  Preferred qualifications:  Master’s Degree with college coaching, head coach or defensive coordinator experience, recruiting or academic advising experience . Candidates interested in this position must show a demonstrated knowledge of the sport of football with experience playing the sport at the intercollegiate level preferred; Demonstrated ability to coach football and assist in the development of a comprehensive and competitive program at the intercollegiate level; Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate student-athletes academically.
