Job Description

Taylor University is seeking applications of candidates for the position of Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach with other duties within the intercollegiate athletic department assigned to reach full-time status. This is a full-time, exempt position located in Upland, Indiana.  Evaluation of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. 



Within the framework of the Taylor University Intercollegiate Athletic mission statement, effectively fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the assistant volleyball coach and other duties as assigned. Major areas of responsibility include: coaching, assisting with the development, and recruitment of student athletes; assisting in the planning strategies that promote the program across the institution and among key stakeholders, including alumni and parents; striving to continuously improve the program in ways that support team unity and the academic, spiritual and leadership development of the athletes. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with event management; promotional or marketing responsibilities; assist the director of this program with ways to enhance the program and develop strategies for growth; assist in the area of sports information.


Commitment to the Taylor University mission for intercollegiate athletics and the holistic development of student athletes.  Demonstrated knowledge of the sport of volleyball with experience playing the sport at the intercollegiate level preferred; Demonstrated ability to coach volleyball and assist in the development of a competitive program at the intercollegiate level; Demonstrated knowledge of sports information; Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate student-athletes academically.  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and willingness to commit and live according to the Taylor University Life Together Covenant required.
