Job Description

Our ideal candidate (is this YOU?) will work in a cross-functional capacity to deliver on the multitude of projects that The Online 401(k) has going at once, insuring that we deliver to our internal clients, on time, and with a smile.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your a**-kicking talents and expertise in a very fun, creative, and challenging entrepreneurial environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Site maintenance, content edits, debugging, testing, and continuing development of existing sites using modern semantic HTML5, CSS3. Ability to work in a complex template environment with 3rd-party proprietary code.
  • Coding, testing and debugging of HTML and plain-text email messages for proper display in various email clients using an automated marketing application. Experience in WordPress Admin is helpful.
  • MAD Skillz with JQuery, Javascript, JSP, Server Side Tags, and Templating Frameworks such as Mustache.
  • Ability to switch back and forth from current standards-based HTML to email HTML is critical.
  • Design background is preferred; solid skill set with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat is required.
  • Ability to hand-code HTML and CSS is required. You should be solid with XHTML-Strict, HTML5 and CSS 2+.
  • You should be a self-starter, naturally inquisitive, and take ownership of your work. Ability to multi-task and switch priorities quickly is key.
  • Be keen to what is going on in web development. Think social, gamification, mobile…we are!
  • You know Firebug, and consider it a close and personal friend. Experience with Salesforce, Marketo and WordPress is helpful, but not required.

  • You feel that the term work-a-holic is flattering. You blush slightly when your friends use that term and your name in a synonymous fashion.
  • You love coffee, chocolate, Apple products, and don’t mind working in locations other than the office.
  • You have a peculiar sense of humor. You may, or may not, swear like a sailor.

  • Have the flexibility of a Yogi master; at least in the way you work.
  • You are super excited to contribute your super kick-a** ideas to a team of super awesome creative architects that want to make super awesome things.

YOU are our person if you:

  • Have at least 2-3 years of actively performing the above
  • Have a Bachelors or equivalent in experience (Financial industry experience absolutely not needed! At all! For reals!)
  • Are an unsung hero and diabolical genius, who regularly saves the day (cape not required)
  • Are a forward thinking, creative that would like to grow with us! Like the Incredible Hulk! Only less angry!
  • Enjoy being flexible on-the-fly in a seasoned start-up—this is no joke, yo
