Due to their rapid growth in Asia, they are now looking for their Global Engineering Manager to support the Solar Cell Paste Maufacturing activity.

Job Description

Global objective of the job: 

Lead Global Process Engineering activities in support of solar cell paste manufacturing 

Direct Report: Singapore site Process Engineers, dotted line to Process Engineering Managers at other sites.

Supervisor: Vice President, Global Operations

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead global Process Engineering Team, including creation and execution of group vision, training of WW staff and deploying of staff globally as needed in order to meet needs of the business
  • Define and manage processes associated with product transfer between sites, ensuring equivalent quality in all sites
  • Plan, direct, and conduct project activities supporting the scale-up of new products to customer or industry specification.
  • Analyze/identify/solve problems or customer complaints regarding existing products and originate/manage process changes for new applications.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, management, internal departments and other locations to resolve escalated issues.
  • Engage internal and external raw material / equipment suppliers to evaluate new materials / new equipment.
  • Create and/or approve new or updated manufacturing instructions.
  • Execute continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodology to improve efficiency of existing process and/or procedures.
  • Manage local Process Engineering Department by delegating work between product scale-up, production issues, and engineering support for Technical Services
  • Ensure safe work procedures are followed
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include the selection, training and development, assigning work, and performance management of employees.

Qualifications

Job specifications:

Knowledge: 

  • Experience in multi-site international management  
  • Experience in chemical handling and proficient in risk assessment 
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, Safety & Environment policies
  • Knowledge in GMP will be an advantage      
  • Experience in material handling processes an advantage (especially mixing, size reduction)
  • Proficient in basic mathematic calculation in unit conversion and percentage        

Skills: 

  • Strong root cause analysis skill and understanding of Corrective Action and Prevention Action (CAPA)
  • Strong problem solving skill and understanding of Lean 6 Sigma
  • Computer proficiency in SAP and Microsoft office applications      

Abilities: 

  • Effective in communication, able to communicate with all levels – with team, peers, local management, global management, vendors, customers and other external partners
  • Team player, able to work well with cross functional team 
  • Ability to motivate team members
  • Follow safety regulation

Education & Experience

Minimum degree in Chemical / Material Engineering           

Min 10 years working experience preferred
