POSITION SUMMARY
The role is to establish and manage the purchasing commodity strategy related to the Singapore sites as well as transverse commodities on a global Level in the Company: in the area of strategy formulation & execution, sourcing, price negotiation, cost reduction, and daily operational activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO BE ACCOMPLISHED
- Establish and implement commodity strategy for assigned commodity on the global level with the interest of geographical sites to deliver best cost and supply
- Drive cost reduction program, and propose new supplier/alternatives to current process/materials,
- Lead key purchasing project to support Global and Site initiative
- Interface with cross functional teams to drive purchasing initiatives
- Lead and conduct negotiation with supplier to ensure purchasing and supply chain excellence in supporting the daily production activities at site
- Support R&D initiative on new material development for new product generation
- Work closely with Supplier Development Team to drive Lean initiative at supplier site on global level
- Enforce purchasing governance at the manufacturing sites level
- Ensure purchasing system integrity and all prices are up to date and correct,
- Report periodically the supplier performance on purchasing KPIs
- Drive and deliver key purchasing KPI
MAIN FINANCIAL AND MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Fully responsible of the control of the assign commodity purchases within the company
- Participate to the company yearly budget, provide accurate data and forecast.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor /Master Degree in chemical process technology, or material science
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Experience in Chemical or Resin related industry preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience in purchasing, sourcing or supply chain. Experience related to stamping, chemical, resin industry will be an added advantage
- Relevant experience in other disciplines but with strong purchasing background will also be consider
- Commercial and strategic mind set
- Ability to deal in an international/multicultural environment
- European exposure will be an added advantage
- Good knowledge on sourcing, negotiation, contract, capability assessment and supplier development
- Team player with strong communication skills to get the buy-in from various stakeholders and able to work under tight project timeline
- Experience in Lean manufacturing will be an added advantage
- Internationally minded and able to travel if required.
- A team player, able to influence and be part of the key force to motivate the team and bring the organization to a higher level
