Digital Marketing Sales Manager

Village Voice’s partner network is growing and the Digital Marketing Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales in local partner markets and centralizing communications and best practices with the sales teams within their region. The Digital Marketing Sales Manager will be the onsite resource for all digital advertising related questions, strategy, and best practices.  The Digital Marketing Sales Manager will also work with the Voice Media Group’s Digital Ops and Agency teams to ensure campaign execution is fulfilled to a level that is commensurate with client and partner network expectations. The Digital Marketing Manager position is one of the most vital roles at Village Voice and we pride ourselves in leading the industry in ad performance, technology and most of all, customer service.

The Digital Marketing Sales Manager plays an important role in our business by meeting deadlines, reporting pipeline, managing sales activity, and communicating regularly with management and our sister properties.  Attention to detail, staying informed of digital advertising best practices, and having a passion for the industry are all important parts of this position. 

Job Description

•    Acquire a granular, intimate knowledge of Village Voice capabilities, specifically within the Audience Extension/Programmatic platform and SEO, as well as all tracking and reporting mechanisms that are used to establish campaign effectiveness and ROI.
•    Coordinate travel to partner markets within your region and work with individual sales teams by implementing ongoing trainings, participating on client interfacing sales calls, managing local pipeline, measuring sales activity.
•    Develop an awareness of all partner related capabilities, and advocate partner network platforms during sales calls with clients.
•    Reporting: Being able to interpret Village Voice analytics data and conveying campaign wins to clients and local sales teams in order to reduce churn, and grow existing client’s monthly investments incrementally.
•    Manage and report pipeline and sales activity on a weekly basis and be able to communicate effectively to Village Voice and Network Partners successes in the region and identifying areas of improvement.
•    Cultivate best practices for vertical specific strategies in order to grow revenue within different industries, including auto, healthcare, higher education, home services, and legal.

•    Troubleshooting: When problems arise, it will be necessary to perform troubleshooting steps to ensure that issues are properly resolved. Also, it will be part of your responsibility to document best practices, so if the same issue arises in the future, the team is better prepared to handle it. 

Qualifications

•    3+ years in selling digital advertising to a number of verticals within a digital advertising agency environment
•    3+ years working and communicating with clients or internal customers focused on sales, operations and/or performance conversations
•    Experience with all major digital advertising platforms including Google, Bing, Yahoo, all social media channels, and programmatic best practices
•    Experience aggregating, providing and explaining performance reporting for digital media campaigns
•    Working knowledge of digital production, design, digital ad tags, and/or creative specs
•    Demonstrated experience handling, organizing and managing complex, detailed oriented tasks with a high level of success and a very low error rate
•    Ability to work independently and solve problems through provided channels
