Overview

Seeking enthusiastic, global-oriented, and self-motivated interns with a true passion for Service, Higher Education, Virtual Organizations, and Social Media; who can bring creative ideas to the campus administration team and help implement them.  Will support the Education Committee and Global Virtual Infrastructure Committee of VOMI Global Think Tank and Advisory Board, a newly formed and powerful internal advocacy force within VOMI.  Will, under strict supervision, have an opportunity to participate in the coordination of all areas of college life, business and learning in a virtual organization environment.  Will assist in the supervision of campus activities and maintenance of a virtual campus environment that is safe, clean, pleasingly aesthetic,  and conducive to learning.  Will assist in overseeing activities that take place on campus and work with all appropriate campus officials to initiate and monitor student, staff and faculty activities.  Will also work closely with the Chair, Global Virtual Infrastructure Committee to help coordinate and manage training and security issues with respect to the safety of student, faculty and staff. Will also be involved, under strict supervision, in planning and/or attending Board meetings;  learning and using parliamentary procedures based on Robert's Rules of Order; recording and transcribing minutes of board meeting; and helping draft board resolutions.

This is a 30-Day UNPAID Global-Virtual Internship,  with a possibility of being extended for up to a maximum period of 90 days based on your initial performance during the first 30 days.  Our internship program is Year-Round and is open to all applicants worldwide who meet our strict requirements.   All selected interns who have successfully completed the maximum total of 90 days of internship will receive a $500 stipend for tuition and education expenses subject to meeting other stipend award requirements.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: 

You must be an undergraduate student in your 3rd or final year, or graduate student,  majoring in Education, Educational Administration, or a related discipline.   Must have a min 3.00 GPA in your major or equivalent; a 3.50+ GPA is preferred.  A Social Media Native with a strong interest in virtual organizations is a must.  Prior admissions and financial aid internship is preferred A strong commitment to a service environment is a must.   Admission is limited only to students who will receive course credit for the internship, however, a waiver of this requirement due to extenuating circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.   As well, we require the following:

•    Willingness and ability to operate and manage, under strict supervision, in a 100% virtual organization environment.
•    Excellent written and oral communication, research, and writing skills. 
•    Highly disciplined, focused, and extraordinary ability to adapt and thrive in a virtual organization.
•    Must be totally self-sufficient in a 100% virtual environment.
•    Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
•    Fluency in English required, additional language proficiencies (e.g., French, Chinese, etc.) are a plus.
•    STRONG recommendations.
